After you install and configure Connector for Microsoft
SharePoint, enable search on PDF documents. By default, SharePoint
Server does not crawl PDF documents.
Add PDF file type
Log in to SharePoint Server's Central Administration
Console.
On the left pane, click General Application Settings.
Under Search, click Farm Search Administration.
Under Search Service Applications, click Search Service Application.
On the left panel, under Crawling, click File Types.
Click New File Type, and in the File Name Extension,
type pdf and click OK.
Restart SharePoint services
Restart the following services on the machine:
SharePoint Foundation Search
SharePoint Server Search
IIS Admin Service
Note: You may be required to restart the machine after restarting
these services.
Run a Full Crawl on SharePoint Server
Log in to SharePoint Server's Central Administration
Console.
On the left pane, click General Application Settings.
Under Search, click Farm Search Administration.
Under Search Service Applications, click Search Service Application.
On the left panel, click Content Sources.
Click Local SharePoint Sites list, and select Start Full Crawl.
A full crawl can take several minutes. After the Full Crawl is
completed, PDF documents appear in the search results.
