Set a default offline lease period

Recipients of policy-protected documents can take the documents offline for the number of days specified in the policy. After initially synchronizing the document with Rights Management, the recipient can use it offline until the offline lease period expires. When the lease period expires, the recipient must take the document online and log in to synchronize with Rights Management to continue using the document.

You can configure a default offline lease period. The lease period can be changed from the default when anyone creates or edits a policy.

  1. On the Rights Management page, click Configuration > Server Configuration.

  2. In the Default Offline Lease Period box, type the number of days for the offline lease period.

  3. Click OK.
