Follow these steps to install and configure the Hyperic
HQ Agent and LiveCycle plugins on each machine that you want to
monitor:
Install and configure LiveCycle, if you haven’t done
so already. See Installing and Deploying LiveCycle.
Verify that the computer meets the Hyperic HQ Agent requirements.
See HQ Agent Requirements. Also ensure
that each computer you want to monitor has a static IP address.
Download the open source Hyperic HQ Agent package from http://www.hyperic.com/downloads/hyperic-hq-open-source-downloads.
Install the Hyperic HQ Agent. For details on the Hyperic
HQ installation process, see Configure Agent - Server Communication Interactively.
After the installation, start the HQ Agent by typing hq-agent start.
Install the LiveCycle Plugins for Hyperic HQ:
In the \hyperic-agent folder, create a subfolder
named hq-plugins.
In your LiveCycle installation DVD or download, go to \thirdparty\additional\HypericHQPlugin and
copy the plugin files. Paste the files into the c:\Program Files\hq-plugins folder.
Configure JMX settings as required for your application server.
See Configuring JMX settings for use with the LiveCycle plugins for Hyperic HQ.
Restart the HQ Agent. Open a command line and go to c:\hyperic-agent\hyperic-hq-agent-4.4.0\bin.
Then enter hq-agent restart.
