Overview of the utility

This utility initializes and creates the domain group and the four sample users that are used by other samples. These sample users are added to the sample domain and assigned to the Workspace worker role and Contentspace role. This utility consists of 2 custom components, which implement the functionality of user/group and credential/certificates manipulation, and a script service that calls the SDK API to create a sample domain.

This utility is invoked by Administrator using Workspace. You can install or uninstall the sample users/groups by invoking this utility. Before running any one of the product samples, ensure the sample users are created. if not, invoke this utility. Deploying the utility

  1. Log in to LiveCycle Administration Console (http://[hostname]:[port]/adminui).
  2. Click Services > Applications and Services > Application Management.
  3. Click the LiveCycle Applications(9.x) tab and click Import.
  4. Click Browse to locate the sample LiveCycle ES3 archive (LCA) file Adobe-Samples-SetupUtility.lca, and then click Preview.
  5. Select Deploy assets to runtime when import is complete and click Import.

Running the utility

Running from Adobe® LiveCycle® Workspace 10

  1. Log in to LiveCycle Workspace (hostname:port/workspace") as an administrator user.
  2. Click Start Process > Samples > Sample Setup Utility - startpoint. A PDF form appears, which briefly describes this sample.
  3. There are two options in the form, Install Sample Users, Group and Domain and Uninstall Sample Users, Groups and Domain. Make your choice, and click the Complete  button under the form to continue.

  4. After about 1-2 minutes, you can check whether the process has been executed successfully. Log in to LiveCycle Administration Console (http://hostname:port/adminui). Click Settings > User Management > Users and Groups, then click Find button in the page. If you are creating sample users, you will find the following domain, group and users are created. If you are removing sample users, you should find the domain, group and users removed.

    Group: All principals in domain SampleOrganization, PublicationsGroup

  5. Click Settings > Trust Store Management > Local Credentials, you will find following credentials are imported if you selected install, or removed if you selected uninstall.

    Note: This setup utility only imports the user credentials used by the sample applications. There might be some samples using reader extension credential other than the user credential. Please go to  http://www.adobe.com/go/reader_ext_cert to get this credential and import it manually in adminui.
