This task is required for an out-of-place upgrade if you
are moving to a new computer or a new application server instance.
Note: If you are not upgrading on a new computer,
skip to step 2.
(Out-of-place upgrade to a new computer only) Install
the client for your ECM repository on the LiveCycle server, that
hosts the new application server.
Perform all settings related to Connectors for ECM (except
for Administration Console settings) on the new application server
prior to beginning the upgrade. See 5.13 Configuring Connector for EMC Documentum, 5.15 Configuring the Connector for IBM FileNet, or 5.14 Configuring the Connector for IBM Content Manager as appropriate for
your configuration.
Navigate
to the [appserver root]/profiles/[profile name] directory
on your current LiveCycle server and copy the adobe-component-ext.properties
file to the [appserver root]/profiles/[profile name] directory
directory on the target server.
Restart the application server.
Important: For LiveCycle ES Update 1 or LiveCycle
ES2 - Connector for EMC Documentum or Connector for IBM FileNet,
the default repository must be set to LiveCycle ES Update 1 or LiveCycle
ES2 Native Repository Provider otherwise the upgrade deployment
will fail. If you have configured the ECM repository provider as the
default repository for either of these connectors, open the Administration Console
and navigate to Services > LiveCycle [connector type] > Configuration Settings.
Select the LiveCycle Repository Provider option and then
click Save.
You can now continue to run Configuration Manager to upgrade
to LiveCycle ES3. (See Next
steps.)
