2.3 Selecting tasks for upgrading, configuring, and deploying LiveCycle ES3

After you install LiveCycle ES3, you can run Configuration Manager to perform a variety of tasks. The first task you choose is to upgrade from a previous version of LiveCycle to LiveCycle ES3. Then you can select the following tasks for Configuration Manager to perform in addition to the upgrade:

  • Configure LiveCycle modules in EAR files, to deploy to the application server

  • Configure application server properties to support LiveCycle

  • Package JDBC modules into LiveCycle EAR files (secure datasources)

  • Validate application server configuration

  • Deploy LiveCycle EAR files

  • Initialize the LiveCycle database

  • Deploy LiveCycle components

  • Validate the LiveCycle component deployment

  • Configure LiveCycle components

  • (Optional) Import the LiveCycle Samples

Note: You must initialize your existing database for use with LiveCycle .This step does not harm existing data in any way.
