When you
select a subform, the Binding tab in the Object palette displays
several data binding options. Options that are not specifically
related to creating a data connection apply both to data bound to
a data source and data saved to a file when the object is not bound
to a data source.
Name
Sets
the name of the subform. By default, subforms have no name. See
To name a subform
.
Data Binding
Sets the default data-binding method.
-
Use name
-
Enables data merging and saving options. Data values are
merged and stored implicitly according to Adobe data-merging rules.
-
New Data Connection
-
Starts the New Data Connection wizard. To define a connection
using the wizard, see
Create a data connection to an XML schema
or
Create a data connection to an OLE database
.
-
No data binding
-
Disables data binding. The subform will not be involved in
any data-merging operations, but its objects (including any nested
subforms) may still capture or display data.
Initial Count
Sets the number of occurrences of the currently
selected object to initially display on the form, regardless of
the quantity of data from any data connection. The value you specify
must be equal to or larger than the value for Min Count, and less
than or equal to the value of Max.
