About the effect referenceContents [Hide]This reference contains descriptions of audio and video effects included as part of Adobe Premiere Pro. It defines only those effect properties and tools that may not be self-explanatory. The organization of the effect reference parallels that of the Effects panel. For example, since the Lens Flare effect appears within the Generate folder of the Effects panel, the description of the Lens Flare effect appears under the Generate Effects heading in Adobe Premiere Pro Help. The effect reference does not include descriptions of effects installed with capture cards or third-party plug-ins. For descriptions of those, see the documentation from the third-party provider. Descriptions of effectsSome of the effects included support high-bit-depth processing. These effects include a “32-bit” designator in their descriptions. (See About high bit-depth effects.) 32-bit effects also support 16-bit and 8-bit processing. All effects without the “32-bit” designator are 8-bit effects. Some of the effects included are supported in Windows only. These effects include a “Windows only” designator in their titles. All of the audio effects included are based on Steinberg Virtual Studio Technology (VST). You can also use third-party audio effects based on VST with Adobe Premiere Pro. (See Working with VST effects.) Gallery of effectsThe samples illustrate just some of the video effects included with Adobe Premiere Pro. To preview an effect not in this gallery, apply it and preview it in the Program Monitor.
