Export from Lightroom to Photoshop.com

The Publish Services panel in the Library module allows you to export photos directly from Lightroom to Photoshop.com. First, establish a connection between Photoshop.com and Lightroom, then create a publish collection of photos to export. Finally, upload the photos.

Important: You must use Lightroom 3.4 or later to upload to Photoshop.com. In Lightroom, choose Help > Check For Updates to make sure you are using the latest version.

Create a Photoshop.com connection

The Publish Services connection allows Lightroom to communicate with your Photoshop.com account.

  1. In the Publish Services panel on the left side of the Library module, click the Photoshop.com connection Set Up button.
  2. In the Lightroom Publishing Manager dialog box, look under Photoshop.com Account and click Log In.
  3. Follow the prompts to allow Photoshop.com to communicate with Lightroom.
  4. Specify additional export options in the Publishing Manager:
    Publish Service
A description that appears next to the connection name in the Publish Services panel.

    Photoshop.com Settings
Synchronize your album hierarchy on Photoshop.com with Lightroom.

Note: For information on File Naming, File Settings, Image Sizing, and other export options, see Export photos to disk or CD.
  5. (Optional) To change your Photoshop.com connections settings at any time, click the + button at the top of the Publish Services panel and choose Photoshop.com > Edit Settings.

Add and manage photos in a Photoshop.com album

Photos that you want to upload to Photoshop.com are managed in a Photoshop.com publish collection, also called an album.

  1. To create a Photoshop.com album, right-click (Windows) or Control-click (Mac OS) the Photoshop.com connection in the Publish Services panel and choose one of the following:
    Create Published Album
A collection of any photos you choose. Give the album a Name and specify privacy settings. Select Publish to show the album on your Photoshop.com Gallery page.

    Create Published Smart Album
A collection of photos based on rules you define. See Work with smart collections. Give the smart album a Name and specify privacy settings. Select Publish to show the album on your Photoshop.com Gallery page.

    Create Published Album Folder
A group of Photoshop.com albums, the equivalent to a Lightroom collection set. Give the album folder a Name and specify privacy settings.

  2. For a regular album , drag photos from the Grid view to the Photoshop.com album in the Publish Services panel. If you create a smart album , the photos that match your rules appear in the album.
  3. To manage your Photoshop.com albums, do any of the following:
    • To edit, rename, or delete an album, right-click (Windows) or Control-click (Mac OS) it in the Publish Services panel and choose Edit Collection, Rename, or Delete.

    • To remove an unpublished photo from a regular Photoshop.com album, select it in the album and press Delete.

    • To add or remove photos in a Photoshop.com smart album, change the rules of the smart album.

    • To view the photos in a Photoshop.com album, select the album in the Publish Services panel. The photos are organized in the following categories, or queues, in the image display area:

      New Photos To Publish
Photos that have not been exported.

      Modified Photos To Republish
Photos that were edited in the Library or Develop module after they were exported.

      Published Photos
Photos that have not been modified since they were exported.

      Deleted Photos To Remove
When you press Delete to remove published photos from an album, Lightroom marks them as Deleted Photos To Remove. They are removed from the album the next time you click Publish.

Upload to Photoshop.com

Photos waiting to be published appear in one of two queues: New Photos To Publish or Modified Photos To Republish. Lightroom uploads everything in both queues when you publish an album.

  1. To publish photos to Photoshop.com, do one of the following:
    • Select a Photoshop.com album and click Publish.

    • Right-click (Windows) or Control-click (Mac OS) a Photoshop.com collection and choose Publish Now.

  2. If prompted, click Replace to update published photos with newer versions.
